University of Alaska Southeast

The University of Alaska Southeast is an open, four year college that is a piece of the University of Alaska System. The primary grounds is placed in Juneau, Alaska and the college has augmented grounds in Sitka and Ketchikan. The University of Alaska Southeast is shortened as UA Southeast, Alaska Southeast, or UAS. 

UAS was created on July 1, 1987 with the rebuilding and combining of the previous University of Alaska Juneau, Ketchikan Community College, and Islands Community College (Sitka). 

UAS is licensed by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities.
